How To Get Rid Of Melasma Naturally With Little Money

Many women are going through depression when they have melasma or chloasma. Often, this form of excess pigmentation happens because of too much sun or female hormones. It is different from freckles in terms of size. It is generally bigger. So you can imagine how ugly you look with large brown patches over your face.
There are dermatological methods such as chemical peels, laser and microdermabrasion that can treat hyperpigmentation. However, they have potential side effects. And they are costly. There is no guarantee that they will work for you.

You can use a foundation to hide your melasma. But if you're using it everyday, your skin cannot breathe. This will also prevent your skin from eliminating toxins from your body.
So, what are your best options that don't cost you a lot of money and are safe in fading dark spots?
Obviously, you can save money using home remedies. If you focus on plant-based path, it should not cause any side effect.
Some fruits can get rid of melasma naturally. For example, one study shows that grape seed extract can reduce pigmentation when taken orally. It is rich with proanthocyanidins, which can inhibit melanogenesis, a process to manufacture melanin.
In this study, 12 Japanese women involved in the test. Researchers noticed that the best results were achieved after six months. They also discovered that subjects who took grape seed extract for five months could prevent the darkening of melasma before the onset of summer.
In Philippines, women use papaya to lighten their dark spots. Papaya contains papain, an exfoliating enzyme. Exfoliating removes the top layer of the skin that stores excess melanin. Papain has been found to interrupt tyrosinase activity, reducing the amount of melanin produced.
If you're thinking of buying papaya at the grocery stores, don't choose the ripe ones. Instead, go for the green ones as they have a lot more papain.
Some people are sensitive to papaya. Before you use it on your chloasma, perform a patch test. If your skin doesn't react to it, then it is safe to use.
At home, you can prepare your own mask. Mix clove essential oil, nutmeg, coconut milk and sugar together until they form a paste. Apply this mask on your dark patches.
Brown sugar contains a lot of glycolic acid. This fruit acid is commonly found in expensive chemical peels which are used to reduce hyperpigmentation. Coconut milk is loaded with lactic acid, another exfoliating substance which can fade dark spots. Homeopathic practitioners use clove essential oil to keep the hormones in balance. This is an effective solution for those with hormonal melasma.
It is of no benefit for you if you skip sunscreen. After the treatment, make sure you cover your melasma with a good sunscreen. Preferably choose one with high SPF and physical blockers. This should stop the existing spots from becoming worse and prevent the stimulation of melanocytes due to sun exposure.
