As my mother would say, "challenges and trials are stepping stones to success". If you must excel and live a fulfilled life, you must encounter problems. They are like examinations carried out to test your knowledge, ability and strength. I tell you, you never know the extent to which you can endure and persevere till challenges stretch you. When you come across barriers on the path of excellence, your full potentials are being harnessed. All you need is a constructive and positive thinking to put the potentials to work so as to overcome the barriers.
An African innovative entrepreneur once stated that as a transformational leader, you need to see the possibilities in every impossibility. See, the moment you stop worrying about the problem, you start to see advantages in every disadvantage; your eyes become open to a world of opportunities and endless abilities in your disability. Think outside the box. This is because when you do so, new ideas begin to flow in and you will realize that the solution to every problem lies within you.
Maintaining the "status-quo" has become a norm in Nigeria. We are resistant to change and we like to be managers of old existing ideas. The concept of "as it has been, so will it continue to be" has enhanced the existing stagnant state of the country. This problematic phenomenon in our society today started from the grassroots; yeah, it starts from YOU.
Many-a-people is so afraid to make a change though they crave for one. Failures from the past cloud their creative thinking which should give birth to innovative ideas. Abraham Lincoln said, "A success is someone who moves from failure to failure without losing its enthusiasm". You can never know the value of success in an area where you have not failed before. Therefore, do not be afraid of failure. When you fail, learn from it and move on. This will make you a better and optimistic person.
Finally, in this part of the world, what makes us so unique is the abundance of problems and undergrowth present in our environment. Really, that's the fact! Our community is filled with all manners of problems and challenges. Sufferings and agony has become the order of the day.
