A Heart to Serve

"God designed us for something greater than just the people in our home and in our employment," said Pastor Aaron during Sunday's sermon. "When God looks at us he sees a beautiful thing that He wants to shine in its beauty."
Listening to these words, I could not help but think of Ron, the man whom I bought a computer from the night before. He told me his story. About ten years ago, Ron was the general manager of a wholesale business. He was living a "normal" life when one day he read in the Detroit News an article that explained Southeast Michigan alone sends over two billion pounds of electronic waste into our landfills, every year.

The Real Story of Christmas

LAST NIGHT, I spent some time with my children and shared with them the real story behind Christmas.
Sorry Santa, it had to be done!
The kids particularly enjoyed the story and were surprised to learn that the author - Charles Dickens - is the man most responsible for the modern celebration of the season.
This is one of those stories that deserves to be more widely known, so here goes.
Dickens is one of the greatest writers in the English language. He published twenty novels in his lifetime. NOT ONE has ever gone out of print. Amazing!

Be a Problem Solver

As my mother would say, "challenges and trials are stepping stones to success". If you must excel and live a fulfilled life, you must encounter problems. They are like examinations carried out to test your knowledge, ability and strength. I tell you, you never know the extent to which you can endure and persevere till challenges stretch you. When you come across barriers on the path of excellence, your full potentials are being harnessed. All you need is a constructive and positive thinking to put the potentials to work so as to overcome the barriers.
